Good Turnout

Today we had Assistant District Governor Les Pence at our Rotary meeting.  Les spoke for a few minutes looking to highlight our Rotary Interactors.  He will be contacting Denise Hole to fine out what projects the Interactors have been working on for the last three years.

The Plainfield club has been taking the lead on a Disaster Trailer for Central Indiana.  Today, Michael Williams presented a chain saw to Mike Miller.  The saw was a donation from the Danville club. Special thanks to Mower Zone for helping us get a larger chain saw for a cheaper price than what the Plainfield club was looking for.  Max Hanks, President Elect for the Plainfield club was in attendance to witness the presentation.

Another donation was presented to Jerry Vornholt for the Danville Drama Club.  This donation will be used to help fund travel expenses for some of the students to compete on a national level for their play.

Pat Cockrum was proud to introduce Sammy Sisk to the club.  Sammy is a former Rotary Interactor and Indy 500 Queen.  Sammy went to school for Ag Communications.  She spent a year in a small town in IL working for a seed company.  She recently has moved to Westfield to work in communications for a different division of the company.  We were entertained and happy to hear Sammy's update.  It is always good to have an Interactor come back and talk.

We had President Elects:  Max Hanks (Plainfield), Greg Zusan (Avon) attend today's meeting.  Following the general meeting, they met with PE Greg VanLaere to plan for their 2012-2013 Rotary year.  Their meeting was to strategically plan to bring the clubs of Hendricks County closer together.  We can do great things alone, but greater things together.   www.danvillerotaryclub.com
